Mi-Janvier est le moment pour les hindous de célébrer une série de festivals d'hiver. En Inde du Nord, c'est Lohri le 13. Le 14 et 15, on observe Makar Sankranti dans toute l'Inde, Uttarayan à l'Ouest, Pongal, Nouvel An, dans le Tamil, dans le Sud, et Magha Bihu à l'Est.
Cette année, Makar Sankranti coïncide également avec l'anniversaire de Swami Vivekananda.
Mid-January is time to celebrate a series of winter festivals for Hindus. In North India, it's Lohri on the 13th.
